THESE ARE THE SIGNS OF AN UNHEALTHY VAGINA, AND HERE IS HOW TO CURE IT!

A healthy vagina should be acidic by nature and should contain great amounts of beneficial bacteria which helps fighting infections and maintaining a normal pH level. Secreting small amounts of discharge is also normal. Vaginal infection can be caused if the normal conditions are imbalanced.

Vaginitis is  an inflammation which is caused when there is bacteria alternation  in the vagina.  It is said that 40 percent of vaginitis is caused by Candida, and when in accumulates in the vaginal tract, it is known as yeast infection, and it affects 75% of females.

YOUR FIRST STEP IS A HEALTHY DIET

Having a healthy balanced diet and consuming a lot of water is of crucial importance if you want to maintain your vagina healthy.

Cranberry Juice: it has the ability of preventing urinary tract infection. It is rich in acidic compounds which are not damaged during digestion and they are good for fighting the bacteria. When the compounds reach the urinary tract, they prevent the production of harmful bacteria.

Kefir and Greek yogurt: these products help in increasing the good bacteria which prevent vaginal infections such as yeast. You need to make sure that you eat products with high amount of sugar

Foods which contain Vitamin E: this vitamin is an antioxidant and it is not only good for the skin, but in  other parts of the body too. It can be found in Tofu, Avocado Broccoli, Spinach, Seafood, Squash, Olive Oil, Chili Powder, Pumpkin, Tomatoes Kiwi, Mangoes, and Sunflower Seeds. Hazel, Almond nuts too.

Water: We all know the importance of water for our health. The mucous membranes can be found in the nose, the eyes, mouth, and vagina, and they need to be hydrated in order to function well. Plenty of water can also improve the vaginal taste and smell.

WEAR COTTON CNDERWEAR OR DON’T WEAR UNDERWEAR AT ALL

The underwear you wear should be made of cotton, so that the vagina can breathe and soak up moisture. Better option than wearing underwear, which is not made of cotton is to go commando.

EVADEDOUCHING

Douching might reduce the pH level of the vagina and make way for an infection. The normal pH level is from 3.8 -4.5. If your vagina has a strong odor, you should consult your gynecologist. You should also avoid using cleansers or soaps because they also impact the pH level.

DO VAGINAL EXERCISES

In order to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles you should do kegels. This makes the orgasms  stronger, mind-blowing and  longer.

USE A LUBRICANT

Vaginal dryness can be caused by drugs like antidepressants, birth control pills, antihistamines. It can also become dry before menopause or after pregnancy. If this happens, you should use lubricants because having a dry vagina can be hurtful and the sex in not that good. When choosing a lubricant, you should be very careful. You should choose one that is natural, gets easily absorbed, thus leaving the area smooth, soft, infection free and tastes good. The best solution is coconut oil, which is moisturizing, natural, anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and anti-fungal and it can help stop an infection. For even better results, you can add raw honey to the coconut oil.

USE CONDOMS

Condoms help and protect us from pregnancy and STDs. Additionally; they help in maintaining the pH level thus making it possible for lactobacilli to survive. This bacteria prevents UTIs, yeast infection and bacterial vaginosis.

THINGS TO STEER AWAY FROM OR LIMIT

FOODS, WHICH CAUSE PROBLEMS

 Refined foods like pastas, white breads, red meat, flours and sugar should be avoided. Limit or steer away from Trans fats that can be found in foods that are baked like cakes, cookies, donuts, crackers, onion rings, French fries, margarine and processed foods.

BE CAREFUL WITH ANTIBIOTICS

Antibiotics kill lactobacilli which keep the vagina in good health. However, if you must take them, consume probiotic food like kefir and Greek yogurt to soothe the damage they cause.

CAUTIOUSLY USE SOAP

Soaps which are scented are harmful for the vagina. They can dry the skin surrounding the vulva. In order to keep the vagina clean, all you need is warm water. If you still chose to use soaps use unscented, gentle ones.

THE ORDER OF SEX ACTS

You should not switch from anal to vaginal sex before you have changed the condom. If you do not change the condom, you can expose your vagina to bad bacteria which causes infection.

WATCH OVER CYCLING

Females who go cycling are at risk to feel pain, genital numbness, or tingling. You should wear padded shorts and follow form modifications to keep the vagina free from pain during cycling.
