How to Make Healthy Flavored Water at Home

Do you drink between eight or ten glasses of water? Did you know that this is the recommended daily intake? Many people are aware of this fact, but they don’t follow these suggestions simply because they find drinking plain water a little bit dull. If you feel the same, you should know that there is a convenient solution for this problem and it comes in the form of flavored water.

Without any doubts, drinking water brings many benefits to our health. People who drink the required amount of water are generally healthier because they are able to get rid of all the toxins that accumulate in the body, lower the chances of developing heart attack and improve the health of their skin and hair. However, there are many people who don’t drink enough water during the day because they don’t find tasteless water attractive and we can’t blame them. However, there is no excuse for not drinking flavored water. The preparation of this type of water doesn’t require much time and this is a nice alternative for those who can’t drink more than a couple of glasses of tap water. So, how exactly can we prepare healthy flavored water at home?

To start with, you can flavor every glass of water you drink separately, but it is much more practical to fill a large container with water and flavor a larger amount of water that you can use throughout the day. It is highly recommended to use the type of water that tastes best to you. If you live in an area where the water quality is high that would be perfect, otherwise, use filtered or bottled water.

When it comes to choosing flavor, if you are looking for the most basic type of flavored water, you can use lemon. If you want to unleash your creativity, you can use some other citrus fruits or even make a combination between these fruits. Those who want to try something different can use cucumbers for example. These veggies are used in many wellness centers as part of drinks and topically. Herbs like mint can be excellent addition to your water. What is even more interesting is that you can use this herb separately or together with cucumber and lemon.

It doesn’t really matter what kind of addition you will use to get flavored water because the water will absorb the flavor relatively quickly. However, if you want to feel the best effects, it is the best idea to store the flavored water in a fridge for about ten minutes. Now let’s check some flavored water ideas.
