Numerous health experts are warning that a chemical found in the teats and condoms may cause cancer!
The World Health Organization (WHO) claims that the substance MBT (20-mercaptobenzothiazole) is contained in most of the rubber products, including teats, condoms, rubber gloves and tires for cars.
At the meeting in Lyon, France, 24 experts have agreed that there is sufficient evidence that this chemical belongs in the group of carcinogens.
Yet, they claim that the public shouldn’t be worried. The workers in the factories are the ones that are in danger.
Professor Hans Kromhout, member of the Committee that researched this chemical, states that the public is exposed at small amount of MBT through the skin and the air. This substance is related with cancer of the bladder, intestines and blood, but it is not the only factor that causes this health condition.
