You sure recognized that disturbing trend that first appeared few years ago. Teens tend to drown in cases of Mountain Dew and the regular MSG chips and high fructose corn syrup cookies. Are not Coke and 7-Up enough?
If your kids or anyone at your home keep buying Dew-trouble, you can easily switch the cases of this drink with bottled water and stevia drinks, while luring everyone over to the vegetable tray or organic beef hot dogs.
Mountain Dew was first invented in Tennessee and in 1964 it was sold to Pepsi-Cola. Central Appalachia is widely known for disastrous dental issues. According to dentists, the area owes this to Mountain Dew.
Mountain Dew Mouth is a rampant condition in this part of the States. Parents put the Dew in baby bottles, and teenagers pull their own teeth because of severe toothache.
“It’s a stereotype rooted in a terrible fact. Central Appalachia is No. 1 in the nation in toothlessness.” But, this is not just a problem of poor, rural parts of America.
Regular consumption of Coke also erodes tooth enamel. Battery acid (pH=1), Coke/Pepsi (pH = 2.5), Mountain Dew (pH =3).
2. Blood sugar problems, diabetes, obesity
If you drown in a few cans of Mountain Dew and dump a cup sugar into your blood, do you still think that this habit of yours will not cause diabetes, heart disease, and a giggly belly?
You are only given one life to live.
The can itself messes your hormones, because it is often lined with BPA, otherwise the acid in the soda would react with the metal.
BPA in such packages has never been tasted on its safety level. This toxin causes obesity, infertility, reproductive cancer, altering pancreas beta cells and it is often associated with cardiovascular disease and thyroid dysfunction.
BPA mimics estrogen and it is commonly linked with an increased rate of miscarriage and polycystic ovary
4. Thyroid burn out
Bromine affects the thyroid because it competes with the iodine necessary for the production of thyroid hormones.
You can always drink some Mountain Dew if you feel tired due to a burned out thyroid. And that is a real vicious cycle! Get off this roller coaster and try living a soda-free life.
Soybean or corn oil used in the production of BVO come from genetically modified plants. High fructose corn syrup is also obtained from GMO corn.
Mountain dew has more caffeine and GMO high fructose corn syrup than any other soda brand.
6. Preservatives, Dye
Mountain Dew contains GMO soy and corn, BVO, acid, sodium benzoate (this preservative reacts with Dew’s vitamin C and creates carcinogens), yellow dye (obtained from coal tar) and BPA; this is why it is one of the most toxic product you can consume.
If you decide to write to Pepsi, here is what they will answer:
“This (BVO) is a safe ingredient approved by the FDA, which is used in some citrus-based beverages,” explains Christopher Gindlesperger of the American Beverage Association, which represents PepsiCo, the producer of Mountain Dew.
